COSCO SHIPPING’s latest addition to the global RoRo fleet, CHENG KANG KOU, has officially been named in Xiamen. The cutting-edge LNG dual-fuel car carrier is now preparing for its maiden voyage, with over 3,600 vehicles on board.
The vessel will depart from Shanghai and make port calls in Greece, Turkey, Italy, and Tunisia, supporting the growing demand for clean, reliable vehicle transport across key global markets.
CHENG KANG KOU stretches 199.9 meters in length and spans 38 meters in width. It boasts 13 decks and can carry up to 7,500 vehicles. Designed for sustainability, the ship is expected to cut carbon emissions by 27% compared to traditional vessels.
By mid-2026, the company behind CHENG KANG KOU aims to expand its car carrier fleet from 20 to 30 vessels. The goal: to deliver stable, efficient, and more sustainable global trade.
