COSCO Shipping launches new Indonesia route

On 23 December, New Golden Sea, a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Holdings, inaugurated the maiden voyage of its new Indonesia route, YIX, departing from Yangpu, Hainan.

This marks the launch of another shipping route linking China with ASEAN countries. The route will deploy three 1,700 TEU vessels with consistent carrying capacity to serve ports in Yangpu, Guangzhou, Indonesia, and Singapore.

The YIX route effectively meets the needs of South China’s e-commerce enterprises seeking to expand internationally while supporting the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

By establishing an efficient shipping network connecting China, Indonesia, and the broader Southeast Asia region, the route promotes regional economic collaboration. Its streamlined liner services enhance cargo trade along the new route.

According to the statement, the launch of the new route extends the Maritime Silk Road and marks the steady progress of the company’s strategy in the emerging markets of ASEAN.
