COSCO Shipping Lines has announced the resumption of new bookings for general cargo containers from the Far East to multiple Middle East destinations through multimodal transport solutions.
The reinstated services will cover shipments to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq and Oman, with immediate effect.
According to the company, the transport solutions have been designed to maintain cargo flows while addressing ongoing operational challenges in the region. All arrangements remain subject to prevailing conditions in the Middle East, space availability and final operational decisions.
For cargo destined for Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali, shipments will be routed via bonded land bridge connections through Khorfakkan or Fujairah ports.
Shipments to upper Gulf countries will also move through bonded land bridge solutions from Khorfakkan or Fujairah to Abu Dhabi CSP, where cargo will connect to COSCO Shipping Lines’ feeder network for onward distribution across the region.
For Oman-bound cargo, shipments will be transshipped via Nhava Sheva in India before final delivery to Sohar.
COSCO said the updated solutions are aimed at ensuring continuity of service and providing flexible routing options for customers shipping to the Middle East amid ongoing regional disruptions.
