COSCO ledges service stability amid U.S. port fees

The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced on April 17, 2025, that port service fees will be applied to maritime transport services provided by Chinese operators and shipowners, as well as operators using Chinese-built vessels, effective October 14, 2025.

In response, COSCO SHIPPING Lines said it remains confident in its ability to maintain reliable service in the U.S. market despite the new measures. The company pledged to uphold stable capacity deployment, service quality, and competitive pricing, while continuing to adapt its offerings to market needs.

COSCO emphasized its long-standing compliance with U.S. laws and regulations and reiterated its commitment to supporting American import and export trade.
