COSCO announces completing its acquisition of 12.5% and 30% equity stakes in Thai Laemchabang Terminal and Hutchison Laemchabang Terminal Limited, respectively.
This represents further strengthening of COSCO SHIPPING Ports’ Southeast Asian portfolio and continuous enhancement of its global network.
Laem Chabang Port, positioned southeast of Bangkok in Thailand and approximately 60 nautical miles from the Port of Bangkok, constitutes Thailand’s largest deep-water port and serves as the country’s most significant international container hub, handling approximately 80% of Thailand’s total throughput.
TLT and HLT currently operate as the largest terminals in Laem Chabang Port.
Berth A2 in TLT, Berths A3, C1-C2 and D1-D3 in HLT, where D3 remains partially under construction, will provide combined total annual capacity of approximately 6.7 million TEU once fully completed and operational.
