COSCO announces automation upgrades at Tianjin container terminal

A celebration ceremony was held in Tianjin, China for automation upgrades at the world’s first traditional container terminal.

The full completion of the automation upgrades is the result of cooperation between COSCO, Tianjin Port Group and China Merchants Group.

It should be noted that the full completion of the project marks the large-scale implementation of the “Tianjin Solution” to upgrade automation operations of the Port of Tianjin, the largest container terminal in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

The automation project will also create a new benchmark for the construction of smart and green ports, as well as a new model of cooperation between central enterprises and local governments, said COSCO in a statement.
