Cool Carriers

Cool Carriers has taken delivery of Snow Flower, the first vessel in its next-generation Snow-class refrigerated carrier fleet. The ship was delivered on 4 March by Kitanihon Shipbuilding in Japan.

New Generation Reefer Fleet

The company will operate seven new reefer vessels in the series, with deliveries scheduled from 2026 to 2028. Each ship can carry 5,000 high-cube pallets of perishable cargo and up to 168 reefer containers, sailing at a service speed of 18 knots.

Two vessels will have a capacity of over 630,000 cubic feet, while five ships will reach 660,000 cubic feet.

Designed for Efficiency and Sustainability

The new vessels feature modern hull and propulsion designs and energy-efficient engines that meet current IMO and EU environmental regulations through 2030 and beyond.

The order is part of Cool Carriers’ fleet renewal strategy, aimed at strengthening its position in the specialized reefer shipping sector.

Supporting Global Fresh Produce Trade

Cool Carriers transports fruit and other perishable goods across major trade routes, including New Zealand to Europe, Chile to the United States, and banana exports from Ecuador, as well as shipments from South Africa and Argentina to Europe.

According to COO Glenn Selling, the Snow-class vessels feature a 2.5-metre deck height, allowing them to carry high-cube pallets throughout the vessel, matching the internal height of modern reefer containers.
