CMES orders four 3,000 TEU container vessels for Sinotrans

China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) has placed an order for four 3,000 TEU container vessels to be operated by its subsidiary Sinotrans, according to Dynaliners.

The newbuildings will be fitted with scrubbers and have been contracted from an unnamed shipyard, which is reported to be China Merchants Jinling Shipyards. The vessels will support Sinotrans’ container operations and are expected to enhance fleet efficiency and compliance with emissions regulations.

The order reflects CMES’ continued investment in modern tonnage and its strategy of strengthening the operational capabilities of its subsidiary shipping businesses.
