CMA CGM has announced an update to its Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for shipments originating from Türkiye. This adjustment is part of the Group’s ongoing efforts to maintain reliable service levels across its global network.

Geographic scope of the surcharge The PSS applies to specific routes connecting Türkiye to a wide range of Latin American and Caribbean destinations. The following regions are included:

  • West Coast: South America, Central America, and Mexico.

  • East Coast & Caribbean: Central America East Coast, Guyana North Brazil, and the Windward and Leeward Islands (excluding Philipsburg and Gustavia).

Applicable rates and cargo type The surcharge applies strictly to Dry cargo and is set at a flat rate of USD 150 per container. This amount applies regardless of the specific container size, provided it falls under the dry equipment category.

Effective dates and implementation The updated PSS takes effect based on the loading date. Shippers should take note of the following timeline:

  • General Implementation: Effective from March 16, 2026, until further notice.

  • Regulated Territories: For US territories and specific Latin American countries requiring advance notice, the surcharge will take effect on April 3, 2026.
