
CMA CGM has announced a series of Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) updates across major trade lanes, covering shipments from Europe and Egypt to the Americas.
Europe to U.S. and Mexico
From May 1, 2026, a new PSS will apply to cargo moving from North Europe—including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Scandinavia, Poland, the Baltics, and northern Spain—to the U.S. East Coast, U.S. Gulf, U.S. West Coast, and Mexico East Coast. The surcharge applies to both dry and reefer cargo.
West Mediterranean to U.S. East Coast
Also effective May 1, 2026, CMA CGM will implement a PSS from the West Mediterranean region—including Italy, France, Spain (Algeciras, Valencia, Barcelona), and Portugal—to the U.S. East Coast.
The surcharge is set at:
- USD 300 per 20’ container
- USD 600 per 40’, 45’, and 45’HC containers
It applies to all cargo except out-of-gauge (OOG).
Egypt to South America East Coast
From April 1, 2026, CMA CGM has introduced a PSS on shipments from Egypt to the South America East Coast. The surcharge is USD 200 per container and applies to dry cargo only.
