CMA CGM has announced a major enhancement of its PEX2 Asia–Caribbean service, with a revised service pattern set to take effect in 2026. The reshuffling is aimed at strengthening schedule reliability and expanding port coverage across key Asia–Caribbean and Mexico trade corridors.
According to the carrier, PEX2 will continue to operate as a fully dedicated service between Asia, the Caribbean and Mexico, offering direct connectivity to the Dominican Republic, Panama, Jamaica, Colombia and Mexico, supported by extensive feeder networks from major hubs in Jamaica, Panama and Colombia.
Revamped PEX2 rotation
Under the new configuration, the PEX2 service will operate on the following rotation:
Vung Tau – Shekou – Hong Kong – Ningbo – Shanghai – Qingdao – Pusan – Manzanillo (Mexico) – Balboa – Panama Canal – Manzanillo (Panama) – Cartagena – Kingston – Caucedo – Vung Tau
The revamped service is scheduled to start with an ETA at Vung Tau on 27 December 2025, with the first vessel being CMA CGM G. WASHINGTON (voyage 0PPCZE1MA). The first call at Manzanillo, Mexico, is expected on 6 February 2026.
Moreover, CMA CGM said the updated PEX2 will feature two key improvements designed to enhance market access and reliability.
These include a direct call at Vung Tau, providing improved access to the Vietnamese market and Southeast Asia feeder connections, and a direct call at Manzanillo, Mexico, offering a new solution for Mexican import and export flows from 2026.
Phased implementation
The service upgrade will be implemented in two phases.
Phase 1, covering weeks 1 to 7, will introduce the new rotation with additional calls at Vung Tau and Manzanillo (Mexico), while temporarily maintaining the Singapore call during the transition period.
Phase 2, starting from the ETA at Vung Tau on 18 February, will see the full implementation of the definitive rotation.
CMA CGM also confirmed that Caribbean destinations served via Latin America transshipment hubs will remain fully available throughout 2026, ensuring continuity of coverage for regional markets.
The carrier said the enhanced PEX2 service reflects its ongoing commitment to providing reliable, direct and well-connected solutions for customers trading between Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America.
