French shipping company CMA CGM has submitted a bid to take over Lebanon’s postal services, according to the country’s caretaker minister of telecommunications Johnny Corm.

Rodolphe Saade-led container line seems to be the only firm to have lodged a bid to acquire the nation’s postal service contract. The offer has been made by CMA CGM’s wholly subsidiary, Colis Privé.

As there are no other bids, Johnny Corm said in a press conference that the Lebanese government will accept CMA CGM’s offer if it meets the conditions.
