CMA CGM sets new peak season surcharges

CMA CGM has announced several peak season surcharges (PSS) in a number of regions which will take effect later in January and in February.

[s2If is_user_logged_in()]In the first instance, the French carrier will apply a PSS of US$200/TEU for dry, out of gauge (OOG), breakbulk and reefer containers from North Europe, Scandinavia, Poland and the Baltic Sea to the US, Canada and Mexico East Coast. This PSS will be effective from 3 February.

In addition, CMA CGM will implement a PSS of the same amount for similar cargo types from Malta, France Medditeranean, Italy, Spain Med, Albania, Algeria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Georgia, Greece, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Tunisia, Turkey and Ukraine to the US East Coast, US Gulf, Canada East Coast and Mexico East Coast. This surcharge will also take effect in 3 February.

Moreover, the Marseille-based line has published a PSS of US$500/container for reefer boxes from Ecuador to all ports worldwide, effective from 13 January, except for cargo with a destination to Brazil and Argentina, where the surcharge will start on 15 February.[/s2If]
