CMA CGM has reinstated its Mona Express 2 service discontinued a year ago and has revised its Mona Express 1 to create a clearer division of coverage between the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf.
The updated structure assigns Mona2 to Red Sea operations, while Mona focuses on Gulf connections.
The revised Mona2 now connects Saudi Arabia with Sudan and Eritrea on a fortnightly basis, operated by a single vessel with a capacity of 1,300 TEU.
In addition, until October, CMA CGM is temporarily deploying an extra vessel to provide approximately fortnightly sailings between Jeddah and Djibouti, marketed under the same service name.
The restructured Mona Express (Mona) operates a weekly loop using two vessels with an average capacity of 1,500 TEU.
This Gulf-focused service connects Jebel Ali, Khalifa, Djibouti, Aden, Berbera, and Sohar, with Aden and Berbera being served on alternate sailings.
