CMA CGM announces peak season surcharge on China–Kenya route

French shipping company CMA CGM has announced the implementation of a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for shipments originating from China to Kenya, effective 20 May.

The Marseille-based carrier will apply a surcharge of US$150 per TEU on dry cargo shipments from Central & South China, including Hong Kong and Macau SAR, to the Port of Mombasa.

Additionally, a separate surcharge of US$200 per TEU will be implemented for dry cargo transported from North China to Mombasa, also effective from 20 May.

These surcharges apply exclusively to dry cargo and are intended to address increased operational costs during the peak shipping season.
