CMA CGM launches new JEDDEX service

CMA CGM Group has introduced its new JEDDEX service, connecting the Middle East with East Africa. The new service will be a relay service from/to Northern Europe, West/East Mediterranean and Red Sea via Jeddah and will be fully operated by the French carrier.

Imports from US East Coast are proposed as well in relay, according to the company.

The JEDDEX service’s port rotation is: Yanbu – Jeddah – Mogadishu – Mombasa – Yanbu

CMA CGM will deploy a fleet of four container vessels of 1,100TEU nominal capacity. The first departure from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be on 15 April 2020.

The Marseille-based line claimed that transit times to Mombasa will improve up to seven days via Jeddah and Mombasa will be reached from Antwerp and Genoa in 29 days.

CMA CGM added that exports from Mombasa will reach Jeddah in 10 days, while connections at Jeddah will enable cargo to reach Genoa from Mombasa in 21 days, Rotterdam in 25 days, Fos-sur-Mer in 27 days and Antwerp in 31 days.
