CMA CGM has informed customers of the introduction of a Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS) for reefer cargo destined for Conakry, Guinea, due to ongoing congestion at the port.
The surcharge will apply to reefer shipments from all origins to Conakry, Guinea.
For most origins, the PCS will take effect for cargo loaded from 15 January 2026. For cargo originating from North America and Latin America, the surcharge will apply from 1 February 2026, based on loading date.
The surcharge has been set at USD 1,500 or EUR 1,300 per TEU and will be settled together with the freight. Application of the surcharge is subject to space availability.
CMA CGM has also advised that delivery under tackle is highly recommended and customers should refer to Bill of Lading clause 385 for further details.
The carrier said the measure is intended to address operational challenges caused by congestion at the Port of Conakry and to support service continuity for temperature-controlled cargo.
