CMA CGM introduces PSS on cargo to Dakar

CMA CGM Group has announced the implementation of a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) on all cargo destined for Dakar, Senegal, as part of its ongoing efforts to maintain reliable and efficient service levels amid strong seasonal demand.

Effective October 15, 2025, the surcharge will apply to shipments from North Europe, the Mediterranean, the Middle East, the Red Sea, and the Indian Subcontinent, including Sri Lanka. From November 6, 2025, it will also apply to cargo originating from Latin America, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

The surcharge has been set at USD 300 / EUR 300 / GBP 250 per container and will remain in effect until further notice.

According to CMA CGM, the measure is necessary to ensure service continuity and operational stability in response to increased demand and ongoing capacity constraints across major trade routes serving West Africa.
