CMA CGM announces intermodal solutions in Egypt

In complement to CMA CGM’s 17 services connecting Egypt’s ports to major global trade routes, the French carrier offers rail solutions in October Dry Port (ODP) connecting Greater Cairo and Upper Egypt’s industrial and logistics zones

Strategically located in the heart of the 6th October industrial zone, the ODP hub provides seamless cargo optimization through smart intermodal solutions.

CMA CGM noted the facility ensures smooth customs clearance with no congestion for all cargo types and supports reliable rail connectivity.

A fixed block-train service operates between Alexandria Terminal Multi-Transport and ODP with two weekly departures in each direction and a fast one-day transit time.

Rail links also extend to other key ports, including Ain Sukhna, Port Said, and Damietta, offering a broad logistical reach.

Beyond operational efficiency, rail transport through ODP contributes significantly to environmental sustainability, reducing COâ‚‚ emissions by up to 75% compared to road transport.
