CMA CGM implements new surcharges in West Africa

CMA CGM has announced several new surcharges in West Africa, which are expected to take effect in July.

First of all, the French shipping line will apply an equipment imbalance surcharge of US$500/container from Turkey to Nigeria for dry and reefer cargo. The surcharge will be effective from 1 July.

On the same date, CMA CGM will implement a peak season surcharge (PSS) of US$500/container from Turkey to West Africa, except for Nigeria, for dry and reefer boxes.

In addition, the Marseille-based carrier will introduce another PSS from Canada East Coast ports to West Africa, except Nigeria, only for dry cargo. The surcharge will be US$100/dry unit and will be effective from 10 July.
