CMA CGM implements new surcharges in Latin America

CMA CGM has announced several new peak season surcharges (PSS), which will take effect in late August and September.

Firstly, the French carrier will impose a surcharge of US$178 (€150) per TEU for dry cargoes from Colombia, Panama, Peru and the Dominican Republic to West Coast South America, which will be effective from 24 August.

On the same date, another CMA CGM PSS will be implemented from Ecuador to West Coast South America. The surcharge will be US$357 (€300) per TEU for dry cargoes.

Furthermore, the Marseille-based shipping company will apply a PSS of US$535 (€450) for standard, special, non operating reefer (NOR) & reefer cargoes from the European ports of Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Poland, France Atlantic, UK, and Gijon, Bilbao and Vigo of Spain Atlantic, to Colombia (Cartagena, Santa Marta, Barranquilla, Turbo) and Dominican Republic (Caucedo, Rio Haina). The surcharge will begin on 1 September.

With the same date of application, CMA CGM will set an increase of US$1,189 (€1,000) for standard, reefer, NOR and special cargoes, destinated from Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Poland and Spain Atlantic, to Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Buenaventura of Colombia, and Ensenada, Manzanillo and Lazaro Cardenas of Mexico.

Last but not least, the French liner operator will set a surcharge of US$1,500 per TEU for dry, special and NOR cargoes from the ports of Brazil East Coast, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, to Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala and Honduras on 1 September.
