CMA CGM implements new hazardous surcharge from Asia to North Europe

CMA CGM has announced it will apply a new surcharge for the transportation of hazardous cargo from Asia ports to North European destinations.

In particular, the French ocean carrier will apply a “hazardous surcharge” of US$150 / TEU for containers moving from North East Asia, South East Asia, China, Hong Kong & Macau SAR to the ports in North Europe, Scandinavia, Poland and the Baltic.

The additional fee will be effective from 1 May 2023 (loading date), while CMA CGM has not announced the duration of the surcharge.
