CMA CGM Group delivers emergency humanitarian aid to Ukraine

CMA CGM Group, through its Foundation that supports local community and humanitarian projects, has made a large-scale operation, coordinated by the Crisis and Support Centre of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (CDCS) in conjunction with the Polish and Ukrainian authorities, to help Ukrainian civilians amid the Russia-Ukraine crisis.

The French logistics group deployed one cargo plane of the A330-200Fs from CMA CGM Air Cargo’s fleet at no cost, which took off on 21 March from Paris Charles-de-Gaulle airport.

Loaded with 55 tons of emergency humanitarian supplies (onboard), the cargo plane flew to the Polish city of Warsaw to help meet urgent needs, identified by the international community and the Ukrainian authorities for Ukraine’s civilians.

Particularly, the cargo plane provided by the CMA CGM Group carried:

  • Medical equipment: 10 tons of equipment, including 10 oxygen generators for intensive care, as well as nine tons of medicines, provided by the Tulipe association supported by French industry businesses, and 15 pharmaceutical laboratories, which can be used to treat the wounded and chronic illnesses.
  • Electrical equipment: 31 power generators, including six “high-capacity units”, used to enhance the security of the supply of healthcare facilities.
  • Emergency shelters: Nine family tents of 42m² were donated to the Polish Red Cross by the French Red Cross to accommodate Ukrainian refugees.
  • IT and telecoms equipment: Eight tons of equipment were collected by the State Secretariat in charge of the Digital Transition and Electronic Communication, through donations by several businesses to keep links and communications running.
  • Food: over four tons of infant milk, which were donated by a French agrifood group.
