CMA CGM applies surcharges from Indian Sub and Middle East

French container carrier CMA CGM has announced new surcharges from the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East to worldwide destinations.

The company will implement a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS), effective from 15 December 2024 (based on the loading date) until further notice, for shipments originating from the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East Gulf, Red Sea, and Egypt, destined for the US East Coast and US Gulf. The surcharge will be US$1,500 per unit for all cargo types.

In addition, CMA CGM will apply another PSS, effective from 15 December until further notice. This surcharge will apply to shipments originating from the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East Gulf destined for Mauritius and Madagascar. The surcharge amount will be US$500 per TEU for all cargo types.

Furthermore, CMA CGM has announced the introduction of a Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS), effective from 22 December, for shipments from the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East Gulf to the port of Beira in Mozambique. The surcharge amount is set at US$270 per TEU.
