CMA CGM applies congestion surcharge in Nicaragua and El Salvador

French ocean carrier CMA CGM informed its customers about the implementation of a Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS) in response to the current conditions in Nicaragua and El Salvador.

Starting on 1 December and until further notice, a surcharge of US$1,000 per container will apply to all cargo types originating from any location and destined for Nicaragua and El Salvador.

Additionally, a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) of US$1,000 per container will be introduced for all shipments originating from Nicaragua and El Salvador. This surcharge will also apply to all cargo types.
