CMA CGM announces PSS for East Africa and Maldives routes

CMA CGM has announced new Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) to maintain reliable shipping services on key trade routes to East Africa and the Maldives.

PSS from Asia to East Africa

Effective March 8, 2026, the surcharge applies to cargo moving from North East Asia and South East Asia to:

  • Kenya

  • Tanzania

  • Mozambique

Surcharge: USD 400 per TEU for all cargo.

PSS from Global Origins to Maldives

Starting March 9, 2026, CMA CGM will also apply a surcharge on shipments from all global origins to Maldives.

For shipments originating from the United States, US territories, Australia, and Latin America, the surcharge will take effect on April 10, 2026, subject to regulatory notice.

Surcharge: USD 300 per TEU for all cargo.

The company said the measures support service reliability and operational efficiency during peak shipping demand.
