French ocean carrier CMA CGM has announced new surcharges and Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates for shipments from Asia.
First of all, the company will apply a peak season surcharge (PSS) from Asia to East Africa and the Indian Ocean for all cargo, effective from 7 June, as follows:
- Origin range: From South East Asia, North East Asia, North China and Central China
- Destination range: To Kenya, Tanzania (Dar Es Salaam, Tanga and Zanzibar), Maldives, Somalia and Seychelles
- Amount: US$300 per TEU
- Origin range: From South China
- Destination range: To Tanzania (Dar Es Salaam, Tanga and Zanzibar) and Seychelles
- Amount: US$300 per TEU
- Origin range: From South China
- Destination range: To Kenya
- Amount: US$500 per TEU
- Origin range: From South China
- Destination range: To Maldives and Somalia
- Amount: US$400 per TEU
Additionally, CMA CGM will introduce a PSS of US$2,000 per container for shipments from Asian ports to the East Coast of South America, effective from 1 July until further notice.
Furthermore, the French line will implement a PSS of US$1,000 per box from Asia to Mexico, West Coast South America, West Coast Central America, East Coast Central America and the Caribbean, except French overseas territories. This surcharge will take effect on 7 June (and 30 June for US territories). CMA CGM noted the surcharge will increase to US$2,000 per box from 22 June onwards.
The Marseille-based ocean carrier will apply a PSS of US$300 per TEU originating from Southeast Asia and destined for Mozambique, effective from 7 June.
Moreover, CMA CGM announced a US$250 per TEU surcharge from all Asian ports to all North European ports, including the United Kingdom and the full range from Portugal to Finland/Estonia. The PSS will be effective from 16 June until further notice.
Last but not least, the French carrier has announced the following Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates from 15 June to 30 June from Asia to the Mediterranean and North Africa:
The FAK rates will apply to dry, out-of-gauge (OOG) and paying empties.
