CMA CGM announces new rates from West Africa to Algeria

French container line CMA CGM has announced that the latest regulatory constraints for cargo destined for Algeria prohibit any option for transshipment or transit through Morocco, leading to additional expenses.

To address this, CMA CGM will implement a Freight Adjustment Charge (FRT68) effective from 15 February 2024 (loading date) until further notice, for all shipments from West African ports to Algeria.

The Freight Adjustment Charge will apply to both dry and reefer cargo, with rates set at US$269 per TEU for dry boxes and US$377 per TEU for reefer containers.
