CLEAR launches biometric eGates at port of Oakland

CLEAR has launched new biometric eGates that will help passengers move through security checks even faster and will begin accepting TSA PreCheck® enrollment applications at Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport.

The new CLEAR eGates and enrollment services are now available in Terminal 2, marking a major milestone in modernizing the airport security experience for Bay Area travelers.

Kyle McLaughlin, EVP of Aviation at CLEAR, stated that from enrolling in TSA PreCheck to verifying the identity in seconds with CLEAR’s new biometric eGates, travelers at Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport now have more ways than ever to breeze through security.

With the new eGates, CLEAR+ Members can verify their identity in under five seconds and bypass the traditional TSA podium as TSA conducts vetting digitally.

This technology represents a significant leap forward in transforming the travel experience by making airport security faster, more seamless, and more secure.

Craig Simon, Director of Aviation at the Port of Oakland, stated that these innovations support a commitment to efficiency, security, and customer service.

The launch at OAK builds on the successful rollout of CLEAR’s biometric eGates at more than 30 airports nationwide and comes at a pivotal time for the Bay Area, just ahead of major global events including the Super Bowl and the FIFA World Cup, when increased travel volume is expected.

In addition to the eGate launch, CLEAR also announced that OAK is now a TSA PreCheck enrollment location.
