

Bangladesh’s prime seaport Chittagong attained 4.07% growth in container handling, 11.43% growth in cargo handling, and 10.50% growth in ship handling in 2025, despite the port faced various adverse situations in the just concluded year.
Data shows that during the year the port handled some 3.049 million TEUs of containers, up from handling of 3.275 million TEUs in 2024. The port also handled 138 million tonnes of cargoes in 2025, up from 124 million tonnes of cargoes in 2024. The port recorded 10.50 per cent growth in ship handling, from 3,867 in 2024 to 4,273 in 2025.
