Chinese container shipping newcomer orders maiden newbuilding

Xiamen Dingxiangshun Shipping, a recently established Chinese coastal container shipping company, has ordered its first ship.

Set up in August 2021, the company commissioned a 2,206 TEU vessel at the state-owned Haidong Shipyard in late July. The price was not disclosed, although similar newbuildings are now priced around US$27 million.

Xiamen Dingxiangshun is wholly owned by Cai Zequan and its corporate registration information states that it will operate domestic container shipping services within Fujian province.
