Non-operating owner Chartworld has reportedly signed a provisional agreement with Yangzhou Guoyu Shipbuilding for the construction of up to eight 3,100 TEU containerships, including four optional units, according to DynaLiners.
The vessels are estimated to cost between USD 41–42 million each, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2028.
This order, once finalized, would further strengthen Chartworld’s investment in the medium-sized container segment, reflecting continued demand for modern, fuel-efficient tonnage across global trades.
