Chapman Freeborn handles record-breaking cargo at Glasgow Prestwick Airport

Chapman Freeborn has completed a landmark cargo operation at Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK), transporting the longest single piece of cargo ever handled at the facility.

The chartered shipment included a 67-foot-long, 24-tonne component designed for the oil and gas sector, along with two 40-foot components. The cargo was transported from Kuala Lumpur via Liège on a B747F nose loader, before arriving in Glasgow where it was offloaded in just 30 minutes using deck loaders and cranes.

The complex operation was coordinated closely with the airline, UK authorities, and handling agents, marking another milestone in Chapman Freeborn’s extensive cargo charter portfolio.
