CFL multimodal and KLOG launch new intra-Europe intermodal connection

CFL multimodal and KLOG Logistics Solutions have confirmed the establishment of a new connection between Sète in France and Poznań in Poland.

This route connects more than 2.000 kilometres and is one of the top five largest intermodal rail links in Europe.

According to the announcement, with one round trip per week, this connection ensures the delivery of IKEA home furnishings on the Spanish market and fashion garments for Inditex, owner of brands such as Zara, Bershka and Massimo Dutti, in Poznań where the Spanish company has its warehouse for online orders in central Europe.

CFL freight, as the major traction supplier, travels over 2,000 kilometres without halting at stations between VIIASète terminal and Poznań. Captrain Polska assumes traction in Poland.

On each railway, up to 38 trailers of IKEA and Inditex goods can be transported.

Furthermore, the T3000 trucks for P400 trailers allow intermodal flexibility and quick filling, effortlessly linking the Spanish and Polish markets in just 48 hours while saving over 12,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

According to the statement, because intermodal transportation options have a lower environmental effect and considerably lower external expenses than other forms of transportation, this cooperation is critical for a sustainable future.
