This week consultancy Linerlytica reported that to rebalance the container shipping sector there would need to be a demolition programme that crammed the last 25 years worth of vessel scrapping into the next five years.
Instead of ramping up demolitions shipbroker Braemar, said: ““Container ship demolition has all but collapsed in 2025.”
Braemar claims that vessel recycling has become so rare “that each transaction is now an event in itself.”
