Carriers revise Myanmar service coverage

Container carriers are reshaping their Myanmar-related services, introducing new rotations and adjusting vessel deployment across Southeast Asia, according to DynaLiners.

CMA CGM’s CNC Line will merge the IDLW, YCX and YSX services — previously operated in cooperation with Cosco Shipping Lines (CoscoSL) and Regional Container Lines (RCL) — into a newly branded service named BY8.

The new BY8 loop will connect Singapore, Myanmar, Malaysia and Indonesia, covering the following ports: Singapore, Yangon, Singapore, Port Kelang, Belawan and back to Singapore.

Following CNC Line’s withdrawal from the YSX service, its partners CoscoSL and RCL will revise their coverage to compensate for the removed vessel. As part of the changes, the Port Kelang–Yangon leg will be removed from the service they market as SYM1 or RSY. In addition, the frequency will be reduced to one sailing every ten days.

CoscoSL will separately maintain coverage of the Port Kelang–Yangon corridor through a revised standalone SYM3 service, now deploying two vessels on a weekly frequency.

Under the new structure, the services will operate as follows:

SYM1/RSY – operated by CoscoSL and RCL – 2 vessels of 1,200 TEU each – rotation: Singapore, Yangon and back to Singapore – sailing every ten days.

SYM3 – operated by CoscoSL – 2 vessels of 1,000 TEU each – rotation: Singapore, Port Kelang, Yangon, Belawan and back to Singapore – weekly frequency.

The revised setup reflects ongoing adjustments in regional feeder networks as carriers optimize capacity and frequency across Myanmar and the wider Southeast Asian market.
