The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported an attack on a cargo vessel in the Strait of Hormuz on 11 March 2026.
According to the alert, the incident occurred about 11 nautical miles north of Oman. The vessel was reportedly struck by an unknown projectile, which caused a fire onboard.
The ship requested immediate assistance, and the crew began evacuating the vessel.
UKMTO has advised all ships transiting the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity while authorities investigate the incident.
