Boluda Towage expands Australian operations to Port of Esperance

Boluda Towage has launched harbour towage operations at the Port of Esperance, strengthening its presence in Australia.

The move follows Boluda’s acquisition of Mackenzie Marine & Towage, a family-owned company with more than 50 years of experience in Western Australia’s towage sector.

Boluda said the expansion supports its long-term strategy to build a strong presence across key Australian ports. By adding operations on the West Coast, the company complements its existing footprint in northern and eastern Australia.

With the latest addition, Boluda Towage now operates more than 43 vessels in Australia, providing harbour towage services aligned with international safety and performance standards.

Sean McKenzie will continue to lead operations at the Port of Esperance. Boluda said this ensures continuity, local expertise, and strong customer relationships.

The Port of Esperance is a key export hub for Western Australia, supporting iron ore, grain, and agricultural exports. Boluda said the port’s strategic role makes it a valuable addition to its global network.

Boluda Towage now operates in more than 232 ports worldwide, with a global fleet of over 850 vessels. The company said it remains focused on growth, safety, and operational excellence.
