Boluda expands Global Towage with Boskalis deal

Boluda Towage has acquired the towage and salvage business of Royal Boskalis BV in Australia and Papua New Guinea, a US$640 million transaction that consolidates its position as the world’s largest towage operator.

The acquisition expands Boluda’s presence to 5 continents, 232 ports, and a fleet of over 850 vessels, including tugs and salvage ships, supported by 10,000 employees. Operational capacity now covers major Australian and Papua New Guinean ports, including Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Port Moresby, connecting key raw material exports, iron, coal, natural gas, gold, and lithium, to global markets, particularly Asia.

Vicente Boluda Ceballos, Chairman of Boluda Towage, said: “This acquisition improves service and operational efficiency for our clients, consolidating us as the leading global player in towage. We will continue supporting port infrastructure development with a focus on efficiency, safety, and sustainability.”

The deal also strengthens Boluda’s presence in Asia, complementing operations in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and Timor-Leste.
