Boluda Corporación Marítima to acquire Smit Lamnalco

Boluda Corporación Marítima will buy Smit Lamnalco (SL), the world’s fifth-largest towage operator, through its Boluda Towage business.

With a fleet of 600 tugboats and an intervention capacity in 50 countries and 148 ports around the world, SL will allow Boluda Corporación Marítima to increase its presence in critical areas such as Australia, Middle East, and West Africa.

Boskalis Group and Rezayat Group each own 50% of the Dutch business Smit Lamnalco. It employs around 1,600 people and has 111 ships. It offers port terminal towage services, with a global and diverse client base in the LNG, tanker, and bulk markets.

“Smit Lamnalco is a solid company with more than 55 years of operational experience, present in more than 20 countries and with more than 1,600 employees worldwide,” commented Vicente Boluda Ceballos, deputy chairman at Boluda Towage.
