Under the deal, Navaltecnica will promote and support the full BIO-SEA ballast water treatment range, along with BIO-UV Group’s drinking and leisure water disinfection systems. The partnership will focus on the yacht, cruise, and naval sectors, where demand for efficient, compliant water technologies is growing.
Founded over 25 years ago, Navaltecnica is a trusted supplier to Italy’s shipbuilding and repair industries. Its technical expertise and strong customer network will help BIO-UV Group expand in one of Europe’s most active maritime hubs.
“Partnering with Navaltecnica brings our solutions closer to customers in Italy’s dynamic maritime sector,” said Maxime Dedeurwaerder, Solutions Sales Director at BIO-UV Group. “The company’s technical strength and market understanding make it an ideal partner.”
BIO-UV Group designs chemical-free water treatment systems using UV, electrolysis, ozone, and AOP technologies. Its BIO-SEA system, approved by the IMO and US Coast Guard, is installed on more than 800 vessels worldwide, including commercial ships, cruise liners, and yachts.
Navaltecnica CEO Sergio de Iudicibus said the partnership aligns with the company’s long-standing focus on sustainability. “BIO-UV’s technology is among the most reliable and eco-friendly available. Representing BIO-SEA in Italy helps us deliver proven solutions that meet the latest global standards.”
Navaltecnica will also provide local commissioning, training, and maintenance services, ensuring faster response times and enhanced support for shipowners.
Dedeurwaerder added: “Italy offers strong potential for both newbuild and retrofit projects. With Navaltecnica’s expertise, we can help more owners meet environmental compliance efficiently.”
The agreement supports BIO-UV Group’s wider strategy to expand its European distribution network through partnerships with leading maritime engineering firms. Both companies plan to participate in upcoming maritime trade events in Italy and across Europe to showcase the latest BIO-SEA innovations.
