STAX, the at-berth emission capture and control company, is looking to expand its business further in both the US and Europe.
STAX, which was officially launched last year, co-founded by Bob Sharp (CTO), Mike Walker (CEO) and Edward Norton (Chief Strategy Officer) to fill what Walker said was the gap in the market where shore power is unavailable but pollutant restrictions limit emissions.
The system is simple in as much as it attaches a pipe to the exhaust of a vessel, while it is at berth and collects and processes the gases in an adjacent barge, and later discharging the gases for permanent storage or use in other, clean, processes.
