Bangladeshi container depots raise handling charges up to 81%

The owners of Bangladeshi inland container depots have announced an upward revision of box handling charges for both loaded and empty containers.

They have also announced a hike in charges for various other services provided to export-oriented sectors.

For loaded containers, charges will increase between 60% and 81% starting from September — barely a month after a reciprocal tariff of 35% will come into effect in the United States on Bangladeshi exports, raising the total tariff there to 50%.
