Avin International joins Ahti Pool

Avin International has joined Ahti Pool, the FuelEU Maritime compliance pooling solution, strengthening its approach to regulatory compliance and decarbonisation.

The Greek tanker operator traces its maritime roots back to the 1960s. Today, Avin manages a fleet of around 35 oil and chemical tankers with a combined capacity of more than 2.5 million tonnes. The company employs over 2,000 personnel across shore and sea operations.

Avin continues to invest in future-ready assets. It has built the world’s first ammonia-ready Suezmax tanker and remains focused on modernising its fleet to meet evolving environmental requirements.

The company has received repeated recognition for its sustainability performance. Awards include ESG Shipping Awards for investments in energy-saving technologies and advanced environmental practices. Avin was also shortlisted for the 2024 GREEN4SEA Tanker Operator Award.

By joining Ahti Pool, Avin adds a structured compliance mechanism to its FuelEU Maritime strategy. The pool supports regulatory alignment while offering flexibility alongside the company’s existing decarbonisation initiatives. The move supports Avin’s long-term roadmap to reduce emissions across its fleet.

Ahti Pool was developed specifically for FuelEU Maritime compliance. It manages fleets for several established owners and operators, including Van Weelde Group, Bore, Spliethoff, Stenersen, and Neste. The pool administers more than €100 million in emissions exposure, providing market-grade compliance and strategic decarbonisation support.

Avin said the partnership supports the next phase of its energy transition by strengthening its ability to manage FuelEU Maritime requirements at fleet level.

Ahti Pool said Avin’s entry adds depth and diversity to the pool and reinforces its ability to optimise compliance at scale for all members.
