Asian lines co-operate in new domestic services

Ocean Network Express (ONE), Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), Regional Container Lines (RCL) and Goldstar Lines will co-operate on two new services in order to develop their intra-Asia networks.

[s2If is_user_logged_in()]ONE and RCL will work together in a new China Thailand Philippines (CTP) service, which is a transformation of the Thailand – Vietnam – Philippines (TPV) service. The two companies will deploy four 2,700TEU vessels and will provide a transit time of six days from Shanghai to Laem Chabang.

The CTP port rotation will be Qingdao – Busan – Shanghai – Laem Chabang – Cai Mep – Manila – Qingdao, and the first boxship which will depart from the Port of Laem Chabang on 5 April will be the 2,553TEU MOL Seabreeze.

In addition, ONE will participate in another joint service with OOCL and Goldstar Lines, called the China Indonesia Malaysia 2 (CIM2) and is expected to connect different regions in China to Indonesia and Malaysia.

The three Asian container shipping carriers will deploy four ships with a nominal capacity of 2,800 – 4,250TEU on the new intra-Asian product, which, according to a statement, will complement the existing CIM service.

The CIM2 service will start with the 2010-built OOCL Savannah, which is expected to depart from the Port of Qingdao on 19 April. The new service rotation will be Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Da Chan Bay – Jakarta – Surabaya – Port Kelang – Qingdao.

ONE said that the addition of these new services will increase its presence in the intra-Asia market and provide its customers with reliable and efficient transport solutions.
