Ashdod Port invests $650,000 in Azimut.ai

Ashdod Port Company has invested US$ 650,000 in Azimut.ai, an Israeli startup that recently completed a successful proof-of-concept (POC) within the Port’s Maritime Technology Hub (Blue Ocean CVC).

The pilot showcased the power of Azimut.ai’s AI-driven maritime situational awareness platform, Albatross, demonstrating its ability to detect, classify, and track vessels in real time — even when traditional systems like radar or AIS are inactive. This capability represents a significant advancement in operational visibility and maritime safety.

Designed to evaluate cutting-edge solutions in real-world operating conditions, the Maritime Technology Hub enabled the Albatross system to transition from pilot to a fully operational tool that is already delivering measurable value.

The Port’s investment will support Azimut.ai in scaling both in Israel and internationally, reinforcing Ashdod Port’s strategic goal of turning innovation into practical tools that strengthen safety, efficiency, and Israel’s position as a leader in smart-port technologies.

Following the successful POC, the Albatross system is now being deployed across multiple sites, including ports, offshore infrastructure facilities, and organizations in the environmental and security sectors.
