APM Terminals has commissioned a new 100% electric crane at its Lázaro Cárdenas terminal, marking a major step toward faster, cleaner, and more efficient port operations.
With a 100-tonne lifting capacity and advanced automation, the crane will reduce vessel turnaround times, enhance flexibility for ships of all sizes, and improve reliability for shipping lines and cargo owners.
The installation forms part of the terminal’s Phase II expansion, which will increase annual capacity to 2.2 million TEUs by 2026, positioning Lázaro Cárdenas among the most modern and sustainable terminals in Latin America.
APM Terminals’ continued investment in future-ready, zero-emission equipment underscores its commitment to accelerating operational efficiency and sustainability across global trade.
