APM Terminals introduces Shipping Line Dashboard

Digital solutions are pivotal in modern terminal operations, offering unparalleled opportunities to accelerate and optimize cargo flow through container terminals.

In a significant advancement in customer service, APM Terminals introduced the Shipping Line Dashboard to enhance connectivity and collaboration between shipping lines and terminal services.

“This service has now been rolled out in 11 of our terminals and we are ready to document that it has helped us create more visibility in planning, reduce the turn times and ensure more predictable and reliable planning, but we have more to come,” stated Laura Bercan, digital portfolio owner of Visibility Products in APM Terminals.

Powered by advanced algorithms, the Shipping Line Dashboard delivers detailed insights to individual customers, including moves per hour per crane, ensuring transparency and providing reliable estimated completion times early in the port visit.

It was rolled out in late 2023 and the results point in the right direction: “The shipping line dashboard truly is a breakthrough product for us to create visibility – we want to deliver live tracking of the customers’ vessels and detect possible operational issues at an early stage to be able to make proactive measures,” added Laura Bercan.

That experience is echoed by Maersk Nigeria: “Shipping Line Dashboard is a testament of APM Terminals’ commitment to digital innovation for promoting self-service and creating visibility to her stakeholders,” stated Mudathir Owolabi Kosoko, Direct Transport CX Manager (Nigeria)/Branch Manager (Onne), Maersk Nigeria.

APM Terminals places customers at the forefront of its digital product innovation. At TOC Europe, the company invited customers to explore its innovation laboratory and pioneer the development of cutting-edge products for the future.

The Shipping Line Dashboard offers:

  • Enhanced Planning: Complete visibility and reliably estimated completion times, calculated using advanced algorithms, positively impact the entire logistics chain, from onward planning to vessel departure.
  • Improved Reliability: Real-time data from cranes to the Terminal Operating System enhances planning accuracy, providing efficiency statistics for each crane operating on a vessel.
  • Accessibility: Accessible 24/7 via the secure www.apmterminals.com platform from any location worldwide.
