ANL / CMA CGM issues emergency diversions for Middle East shipments

As regional tensions escalate, ANL / CMA CGM has activated emergency protocols affecting all shipments to and from key Middle East ports. The safety of crews, vessels, and cargo remains the highest priority.

Affected Ports

  • Iraq (Port of Umm Qasr)

  • Bahrain

  • Kuwait

  • Yemen

  • Qatar

  • Oman

  • United Arab Emirates

  • Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

These measures include vessel deviations, contingency port discharges, and operational adjustments under Force Majeure clauses.

Options for Customers

Clients can provide instructions for their cargo, including:

  1. Delivery at contingency ports – equipment returned at these locations.

  2. Overland delivery – by road or rail, subject to price and availability.

  3. Change of Destination (COD) – redirect shipments to alternative ports, subject to service agreements and current circumstances.

All costs associated with these changes—detention, demurrage, handling, and storage—are the responsibility of the customer.

Commitment to Transparency

ANL / CMA CGM is committed to keeping customers informed and ensuring continuity of service, despite operational disruptions caused by the security situation.

For guidance or inquiries, customers should contact their local ANL / CMA CGM representative.
