Anker Schiffahrt inaugurates new office building in Germany

Anker Schiffahrts-Gesellschaft mbH, a seaport transshipments and terminal operator in the outer port of Emden, Germany has had a new office building constructed at its company headquarters Am Flügeldeich (outer harbour) over the past two years.

The official inauguration ceremony took place at the end of May and was attended by employees, customers and business partners, as well as well-known representatives from politics and industry.

After a planning and construction phase in line with the building project, the complex is ready for commercial and industrial employees to move in. The facility has a total of 1,050 m² on three floors.

In order to comply with the latest requirements of the German Building Energy Act, the following structural features were implemented in the new building:

  • Installation of a photovoltaic system with an output of approx. 34 KWp on the roof.
  • Generation of the heat required for the underfloor heating via an air-water heat pump
  • Installation of a window system with triple glazing and isolation of the building with a U-value of 0.16 W/sqm x K

The inauguration of the new office building is also the starting signal for the construction of a new two-storey social building. This will be built on the existing fundament of the old office building with demolition work having already started on 8 May. The planned groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 19 June and completion is planned for February 2024.
